CueLab is a free toolkit of 36 focused calculators, referees' assistants and training aids for snooker — covering break construction, defensive geometry, match framing and equipment calibration. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing about your practice is uploaded.
On the table tonight
Snooker is a sport where mental arithmetic, geometry and patience all meet. CueLab's tools give you the arithmetic side — what's the maximum break left on the table, how steep is this safety, how does your long-pot rate trend over six weeks. They do not play the shots for you, and they deliberately avoid pretending to be authoritative where the sport is genuinely subjective (refereeing judgement, players' mental state).
Every tool follows the same pattern: a clear input, an explicit output, and a section on how to interpret it. Where the maths is uncertain we say so. Where a rule is contested we link to the WPBSA / WSF wording rather than inventing a verdict.

Methodology
Where a tool returns a probability — potting %, snooker-call %, escape difficulty — we cite our base rate (e.g. "a professional long pot at 6 ft" ≈ 46% in published WSA / WPBSA review data) and let you adjust. We do not hide the slider behind a "smart AI" label.
Originality
The 36 tools include several we couldn't find a usable version of online — a colour re-spot strategy generator, a final-frame black-choice decision tree, a cushion-rebound estimator that accounts for nap direction. We've kept each tool honest about its limits.
Audience
Strong club players (breaks of 50+ in open play), county-level amateurs, coaches preparing sessions, junior parents setting up practice plans, and tournament organisers running local rankings. Not aimed at first-time beginners — too many tools assume you already know what a stun shot is.
Honest limits
It does not "AI-grade your cue action" — that's a coaching job. It does not embed live match telemetry — that requires infrastructure. It does not pretend a free tool equals a subscription coaching product. See the disclaimer in the footer.
No. CueLab is purely client-side JavaScript. Open a tool, change the inputs, copy the numbers — that is the full workflow. We have no user database because we have no user accounts.
They are base-rate estimates compiled from publicly cited professional-tournament review data, then surfaced as defaults that you can adjust. We treat them as plausible starting points, not facts about your own potting.
Because CueLab is a measurement tool, not a media product. Video lessons and forums would need moderation, payment rails, and would change what we have to say about E-E-A-T (expertise, experience, authority, trustworthiness). The line we hold is: tools you can verify, no claims we cannot back up.
Hand-written HTML, Tailwind CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. Every calculation is documented inline so a curious player can read the formula. No third-party trackers, no analytics scripts that phone home.
